1. Overview
The DA863 filter is a series of special purpose filter with core technology of adaptive cometary filter media. This adaptive filter media is a new concept filtering material in terms of high filtration accuracy, high intercepting capacity, high backwashing clarity and low water consumption. The porosity distribution of filter bed formed by this filter media is close to an ideal medium structure. The porosity distributes homogeneously on the horizontal section of the filter bed to ensure the size consistency of water channel in the process of filtration, which makes homogenous interception of pollutants and prevents water flow from short-circuit. The porosity distribution is gradually reduced from top to bottom in the longitudinal section of the filter bed. The structure with big head and small rear is very beneficial to the effective separation of suspended solid (SS) in water, in other words, the desorbed particles on the filter bed is easy to be captured and intercepted in the narrow aisle of lower filter bed. Due to these unique characteristics, the DA863 filter can realize high-speed and high-accuracy filtration.
During filtration, the cometary nucleus with higher gravity presses the cellulose tow tight; meanwhile, the cometary nucleus has little impact on the homogeneity of pore distribution in filter section due to the small dimension of cometary nucleus, which improves the intercepting ability of the filter bed. In the process of backwashing, due to the gravity difference between cometary nucleus and cometary cellulose tow, the cellulose of cometary tail disperses and flirts with flow of backwashing water to produce relatively strong rejection and dragging force. The collision between filter media also strengthens the suffered mechanical force of the fiber in water. The irregular shape of the filter media makes the filter media rotate under force of backwashing water flow, which strengthens the received force to filter media during reverse-washing. The interaction of the above several forces makes the solid particles attached on the fibrous surface come off easily, which enhances the cleanliness of the filter media.

Due to the characteristics of the filter bed structure and filter media, the dosage of flocculants is 1/2 -1/3 of the normal technology. The unit production of water increases, and unit operation decreases as well;
f. Small footprint
To produce the same amount of water, the required floor area is less than 1/3 of the normal sand filters;
g. High capability for resisting high turbidity burden
The DA863 filter can resist high turbidity water flow in a short time and guarantee effluent quality at the same time.
3. Applications
The DA863 filter can be widely used in the process of water treatment for impurities separation. It operates smoothly in a wide range of filtration velocity and adapts well to the fluctuation of SS concentration in raw wastewater. This filter can be widely applied in the field of urban and rural water supply, industrial water supply, reclaimed water reuse, advanced water treatment, recirculation water treatment, etc.
