The UV disinfecting system consists of ultraviolet lamp module, modular support, system control centre, system distributing centre, modulating tube cleaning device, ultraviolet light intensity monitoring system, low water level sensor and water level control system, etc.

1.Working Principle

The ultraviolet with the wavelength of 253.7 nm (generated by ultraviolet lamp) takes photochemical reaction with DNA of vital center in microorganisms, which kills microorganisms to realize the disinfecting purpose.

The UV disinfector contains a number of unit modules (see Figure 21 and 22). Normally, the method of disinfecting ditch is adopted in practical engineering projects (see Figure 23 and 24).

2.Technical Advantages

a) Stainless steel is employed in the whole module. High quality UV disinfecting modulating tube with effective working life of 13,000 hours is selected. Quartz socket tube with high light transmissivity of 90% is adopted, which reduces UV losses in a minimum level.

b) Every modules and supports can be maintained individually and do not affect other modules' operation during maintenance. These modules are small, energy efficient, easy for installation, convenient for the replacement of UV disinfecting modulating tube and quartz socket tube.

c) The UV disinfector is convenient for operation & maintenance and reliable in running. The system will be reminded automatically when the service life of UV disinfecting lamp is out of date.

3. Type Selection

The UV disinfecting device consists of a number of disinfecting modules. Around 4 to 8 UV disinfecting modulating-tubes can be placed in each module. The quantity and specification of module should be decided based on the quality of influent and the demand for the effluent.
